Welcome to Kempsville Elementary School’s Website! I hope you will enjoy your visit and will find the pages informative and helpful. Please be sure to read the latest online version of our PTA newsletter, “Teepee Topics,” posted on the home page.

I consider it a privilege to serve both you and your child as the principal of Kempsville Elementary School. Our school is blessed with a long history of an active PTA and “Partners in Education” program.  Each year we are supported by numerous hours of volunteer service to our school.  This partnership ensures that the best possible educational environment for our students. KES is an example of a school that lives its mission: “…unites with its families and community partners to develop each child's potential, provide a strong educational foundation, and instill an enthusiasm for lifelong learning.”

From my experience as an educator and a parent, I have learned that only with the partnership of home and school can our children meet their highest potential. To meet this goal we must communicate frequently. You can expect frequent communication from me to keep you informed of special programs and events at school. My communiqués will be in the form of my “Principal’s Corner” column in the PTA newsletter, AlertNow messages, etc. Your child’s teacher will keep you informed of your child’s progress in the classroom. Together, we can help our students reach their full potential in all areas in their lives. Teamwork is the foundation of an exemplary school. Our school flourishes due to the active involvement of our team! Thank you for your support.
